How to get car hauler careers

A decent job these days are hard to find and many people are actually looking for one in every place they can. If you are willing to be flexible, you can usually find something your suited for. If you enjoy driving, you might consider being a car hauler. Anyway, what is this sort of job and what do you need to be hired as one?

Many cars are transported from one place to another. They don't want to drive. For that reason, companies contract with someone to haul that car to their location. Some cars may come from auctions which is to be delivered elsewhere. Some car dealers do the same thing, and want those cars transported to their car lots. If you have the qualifications, and the equipment, you can haul cars, and even boats and smaller items such as skidoo's.

Getting into the business

Employers or those who want their cars transported basically requires their haulers to have at least a year experience in hauling vehicles and over the road driving. They want to ensure the safety of their package therefore they can only hire the best.

Among those that you will also need are the right equipment for the job. You can simply use bigger trucks or trailers for bigger number of vehicles to be hauled. One good truck is the Ford F450 which can pretty much carry a load of 25,000 pounds. This total weight is actually the weight of three cars. Among those commonly used hauling trucks is the Dodge RAM 3500 which is pretty much built to carry heavy loads as well.

Of course, the trailer will also come in handy with regards to this sort of job. You can have your choice on the number of axles but preferably it should be more than three. As for the hitch, it should be able to pull 20,000 pounds or more.

You need to consider the type of hauling you're going to do. There are those who would strongly suggest not covering more than 500 miles when hauling. As soon as you exceeded 500 miles, there is a great possibility that you'll be exhausting yourself for too much.

What does the job of hauling cars pay? You can make close to $300 per car, if you haul three cars. Say you haul 3 cars in a day and earn $900, you'll probably make a net income which is close to $200.

The insurance is also something that you have looked into.

Make sure before you get all lined up, that you already have a client base. There are number of ways you can do that. One of the best is to look for jobs on US HIP.

Lastly, you always need to think of your safety and everyone else around you. Follow good driving skills such as stopping distances and following distances. A short distance to cover can seem long due to the heave load that you have on your truck. Furthermore, you need to mind every turn you make since it won't be easy considering the size of your vehicle and the load that you are carrying.
